Temperature, Pressure, & Volume Recorders

With 11 Speed Battery Operated Quartz Chart Drive

Palmer's Pressure, Temperature and Volume Recorders are engineered to provide accuracy, ease of adjustment and years of service. They are built with hand craftsmanship to last longer than any other product in the market. Palmer will custom build to meet any special requirements you may have, even if your requirements call for a special chart or an unusual pressure or temperature change. Each individually calibrated recorder matches any chart you wish to use. Many parts are interchangeable with other recorders and Palmer will even paint the enclosure any color you need. Attention to detail is what separates Palmer from the competition.

Full Scallop Recorders with Clock Driven Chart

Palmer's Full Scallop Recorder mounts directly on diaphragm, rotary positive displacement and turbine type meters. Pressure changes, temperature changes, and increases or decreases in volume consumption are precisely recorded on the chart. An accurate record establishes gas usage as well as shut down in the event of an interrupted account. Precise volume breakdown is measured as the volume pen scallops the fifty line circular chart, moving along the time line from zero to full scale and then back to zero. Reduce the amount of "unaccounted for gas" by the addition of a Palmer Full Scallop Recorder.

Pressure/volume and pressure/volume/temperature recorders are available in 8" or 12" circular chart sizes, complete with a chart drive to your specifications. The heavy-duty universal mounting bracket has larger gears for longer service and accepts other meter mounts.

Volumes represented by each full cycle of volume pen. Each full scallop recorder is completely checked for quality and calibrated before shipment from our factory.
The gear reduction settings on the gear train are 1:1 and 10:1.
The index hand of 5 cu. ft., for example, means that each rotation of the meter shaft output represents 5 cu. ft. of gas, before correcting for pressure/temperature.
Volume Registration
Digital type index (circular index optional).
Adjustable miter gear for 10:1 or 1:1 setting.
Basic gear ration is 1,000:1 (1:1, 10:1, 100:1 and 10,000:1 optional)
Heavy-duty universal mounting bracket and gears with adjustable miter gear for clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the gas meter.
Turning torque is less that 2 inch-ounces.

Pressure Volume Recorders with Meter Driven Chart

Palmer's redesigned, meter driven 8" and 12" chart recorder utilize repositioned gears to measure any of four different volumes as indicated by the amount of chart rotation. Drive can be set for daily, weekly or monthly intervals. Heavy-duty universal mounting bracket has larger gears for longer service and accept other meter mounts.

A full selection of recording ranges is available for pressure/volume and pressure/volume/temperature. The diaphragm pressure element measure ranges from 0-30 psig and below, the helical pressure element measures ranges above 30 psig.
Adjustable volume per chart revolution
The Gear Train in the case has a basic gear reduction ratio which is indicated by a label on the gear train and four (4) other adjustable gear ratios (1:1, 2:1, 5:1 and 10:1)
Volume Registration
Digital type index (circular index optional)
Basic gear ratio is 10,000:1 (100:1 and 1,000:1 optional).
Heavy-duty universal mounting bracket and gears with an adjustable miter gear for clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of gas meter.
Turning torque is less than 2 inches-ounces.

Pressure and Temperature Recorders

Both 8" and 12" models come complete with any brand of chart drive and can be installed with up to 3 pens. Units are available with wall, flush or pipe stand mounting, along with a portable model.

Pressure Recorders

Pressure ranges up to 0 to 5,000 psig are offered in both 8" and 12" chart recorders. Recorder accuracy is ±1/2 chart graduation.

Temperature Recorders

Temperature ranges from -40° F to 1000° F are offered in both 8" and 12" chart recorders. Recorder accuracy is ±1 chart graduation. The self-contained portable temperature recorder has a sensitive bulb permanently attached to the side.

Pressure Elements

Each Palmer element is individually designed and calibrated for one service range. Palmer subjects these elements to extensive testing during calibration to insure better than specified accuracy.
Accuracy ±1/2 chart graduation.
316 SS helical type with SS fittings and tubing, all welded construction for ranges over 30 PSIG with 1/4" NPT female connection.
Beryllium copper diaphragm silver brazed to copper tubing and brass fittings for 30 PSIG of less with 1/4" NPT female connection.
Angular deflection of the pen arm of 22-1/2° for 8" and 38° for 12".

Temperature Elements
Mercury filled Bourdon coil with invar case compensation and 5" flexible SS armor to 10 1/2" x 5/8" diameter SS bulb with 1/2" NPT adjustable fitting standard. (Bulb type 45-14)

Palmer's temperature recorder elements must pass the same stringent quality control as the most precise scientific laboratory thermometers. All mercury filled systems conform to ASME and other designations such as 5A or 5B. Each system is pressurized after filling so it will have over range capabilities above and below its specified range. Once pressurized, every system is aged at elevated temperatures to eliminate any future calibration shift. The system is completely welded to prevent deterioration of effectiveness. Points most susceptible to physical damage are reinforced with added flexible armor.
Accuracy ±1 chart graduation.
Carefully heat treated coil provides superior spring action.
Durable, low maintenance design: thermal system and other parts easily replaced by field technician.
300 Series stainless steel bulb, interconnecting capillary and armor available with several designs.
Standard case compensated system for uncompensated capillary lengths not exceeding 25'.
Self-compensated capillary allows up to 250' between temperature bulb and case.
