Pressure Gauges

Quality and Reliability are the most important "products" at Palmer. For example, Palmer's All Stainless Steel Gauges are loaded with standard features that are either not available from other companies, or are options available at an increased price. Our Gauges are guaranteed for Two Years on Fluid Filled Gauges, and One Year on Dry Gauges.

Palmer Gauges include:

  • Socket welded to case to prevent a wet gauge from developing a leak, and protects the integrity of the unit.

  • High-low stops to keep sector on gear during pressure surges or discharges.

  • Removable Restrictor to protect from dynamic pressure.

  • 1/2% Accuracy on Dry Gauges.

Palmer Instruments strives to obtain unparalleled Quality and Service for our customers - and at the right price!

Piston Type Snubbers

All products from Palmer Instruments are constructed of the finest materials and designed for reliable service in severe environments. However, some applications occasionally arise where additional protection is needed. Where rapid pulsations or hydraulic hammering is likely to be encountered, a Snubber is recommended to protect the pressure gauge.

Palmer Piston Type Snubbers resist clogging and are self cleaning. During rapid fluid flow the floating piston is forced up against the orifice, choking the flow and protecting the gauge. By changing the diameter of the piston, the system can be "tuned" to your specific working fluid. The Snubber comes with five different piston which are easily changed in the field. Call factory for piston recommendations.

Steam Siphons

Also called "pigtail" siphons should be given serious consideration whenever steam pressure measurement is required. By filling the coil with water, a protective barrier is formed between the high temperature steam and the instrument. Contact your Distributor or Palmer for pressure rating and construction materials for Palmer Steam Siphons.

Needle Valves

Palmer Instruments is proud to offer the full line of Balon Needle Valves. Balon Valves come in a standard steel model and a stainless steel for severe environments. Balon Needle Valves offer special features, such as a plastic stem protector to keep out contamination, a stainless steel bonnet shroud for security, 316 stainless stem with rolled threads for smooth action and long life, and an exclusive two piece design for soft seats which resist abuse and compensate for wear. Locking lugs prohibit seat rotation.

Needle Valves

Bonnet:

Sealed with O-ring above non-tapered threads and locked in place with a Stainless Steel Shroud to prevent loosening.

Stem:

Constructed of AISI 316 Stainless Steel and featuring rolled threads for smoother action and long life. Stem is sealed below the threaded area with an O-ring and backup seal. Top of stem is protected by a plastic cap to keep out contamination and provide a visual indication of stem travel.

Seat:

Available in either a hard (metallic) seat for pressures to 10,000 PSI, or soft seat for reliable seal at pressures below 6000 PSI. Both seats feature a 100 taper to provide finer adjustments of flow. The soft seat is replaceable.
Connection: Valves are available with 1/4" or 1/2" NPT connections in either male or female.
Operating Limits: Maximum operating temperature 200 deg. F (93 deg. C).
